●What's ABP and APMU?


Athlete Biological Passport (ABP) is one of the new doping detection method. Collecting urine and/or blood sample from same athlete continuously and review the sequence of analysis value (profile) to find suspicious movement due to doping. In addition to traditional doping control sample analysis, ABP is becoming mainstream worldwide.


There are two types of ABP, Hematological Passport and Steroidal Passport. Passport review requires advanced knowledge about Medical science, Sample analysis, Sports science and Anti-doping.


The role of Athlete Passport Management Unit (APMU) is reviewing passport with expertise for client Anti-Doping Organization(ADO). APMU consists of management staffs and experts in each field.


●Tokyo-Lab APMU


LSI Medience Anti-Doping Laboratory meets the requirements of "the WADA Technical Document on Athlete Passport Management Unit Requirements and Procedures" and accredited by WADA as APMU.
Tokyo-Lab APMU contracts with multiple ADOs, and reviewing Passport on daily basis and contributes to the effective and efficient operation of the ABP program.
