Nonclinical Studies

The Toxicological Science Division serves to perform nonclinical studies by taking full advantages of a vast array of techniques and renowned reliability that the former Mitsubishi Chemical Safety Institute Ltd. (MSI) had acquired through its broad range of accumulated experience.

Tests on Chemical Substances

Risk Evaluation and Management

Information Research and Document Preparation

We collect, check, and analyze information including the safety of substances (chemical substances, agrochemicals, pharmaceuticals etc.) to humans and environmental organisms, regulation trends in Japan and abroad including REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals), GHS (Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals), and POPs (Persistent Organic Pollutants), and the environmental risks of substances including pharmaceuticals and nanotechnology-related substances.
We prepare documentation for submission to OECD/ICCA (International Council of Chemical Associations) and HPV (High Production Volume) challenge programs and store chemical substance data in IUCLID (International Uniform Chemical Information Database) on behalf of clients. Moreover, we offer a wide array of related consulting services.

Risk Assessment and Analysis

Around the globe, chemical substance control is experiencing a major shift from those based on hazard information (toxicity levels etc.) to that of risk assessment, which includes exposure levels.
Along with safety studies and evaluating the reliability of hazard information, we offer risk management tools customized to meet clients’ specific needs. They include estimating environmental concentrations and exposure levels, risk assessment based on hazard information, and preparation of early stage/detailed risk assessment reports.

All of our research and studies are in strict adherence to the laws concerning protection and management of animals with full respect of the standards concerning care and management of test animals, and have been accepted and certified for animal welfare practices.
