The Toxicological Science Division serves to perform nonclinical studies by taking full advantages of a vast array of techniques and renowned reliability that the former Mitsubishi Chemical Safety Institute Ltd. (MSI) had acquired through its broad range of accumulated experience.

Our tests/studies include…

  • Respiratory tests in large animals

    As one of the test items in safety pharmacology core battery tests, we perform respiratory tests using small animals. Currently, we have established a method available for quantitative evaluation of the cardiovascular (circulatory) system (telemetry method) and respiratory system (Whole Body Plethysmography) both at the same time under GLP compliance. This method can be beneficial in variety of ways, including animal welfare by reducing the number of animals for use in tests/studies.

  • Tests compliant with the Chemical Substances Control Law

    If you need any help in developing or importing new chemical substances including application based on the Chemical Substances Control Law (CSCL) and Industrial Safety and Health Law (ISHL), we offer the best solution in selecting test types and methods as well as consulting and notifying the relevant government agencies (Ministries of Health, Labour and Welfare, Economy, Trade and Industry, and Environment) on behalf of our clients.   • ArrayScan VTI HCS Reader

    The ArrayScan VTI HCS (High Content Screening) Reader is a cell function analyzer designed for fluorescence imaging of various biological materials and quantitative analysis and identification of individual cells.

    This newly introduced apparatus offers sequential imaging and analysis (cell tracking) of live cells through the addition of the Live Cell Module. The cell movement and changes in fluorescent labeled materials can be tracked with this system.

    The ArrayScan VTI is ideal for use in a wide variety of analyses in cells including; (1) cycle analysis (percentage of cells at mitotic phase), (2) FISH analysis, frequency of micronucleus induction (intracellular signaling), (3) morphologic analysis, (4) Ca imaging (FRET assay, etc.).

All of our research and studies are in strict adherence to the laws concerning protection and management of animals with full respect of the standards concerning care and management of test animals, and have been accepted and certified for animal welfare practices.
