Registration of New Chemical Substance in Canada

We provide a variety of services for the application of new chemical substances according to the Canadian Environmental Protection Act.

Prior application is required for the import or manufacture of new chemical substances in Canada according to the Canadian Environmental Protection Act. If the applicable substance is handled within Ontario (including passing through this state), an application will be required according to the provincial law on occupational safety and hygiene. (If the application is submitted under the Environmental Protection Act, the application for this act can be used.)

Prior consulting

We provide application plans suitable for business plans, including the quantities of new chemical substances to be manufactured and imported and the purpose of import.

Application work

We provide total support from the preparation of application documents to the completion of registration. Total technical support will be provided, including the close examination of necessary information, arrangement of research studies, preparation of application documents, preparation of GHS-SDS technical documents and risk assessment reports, and responses to authority requests for modification.

The set of application requirements (schedule) and the assessment period are specified depending on the nature of the substance, purpose of use, quantity, and the state of listing in the existing list (refer to table). Substances listed in the NDSL* have expedited application requirements.

*: NDSL (Non-domestic Substance List):
The list consists of substances included in the TSCA inventory, and the list is updated once a year. Substances listed in the confidential section of the TSCA are not automatically listed and require an application for listing.
